this four string guitar will look right at home with your attempt at being the 
Kingston Trio or Brothers Four or the New Main Street Singers. As often happens 
when a large company tries to jump on a bandwagon, sometimes the wagon rolls on 
by before the jump is made. Such was the case with the 661, offered for a quick 
two years.

The 661   came along to capitalize on the folk craze 
of the early 60s. Kay built upon the shape of the popular 618/620 and came up 
with a tenor guitar. It was only available for a two year catalog cycle, as the 
folk boom of the early 60s had clearly been supplanted by the British Invasion 
and rock and roll. So, a passing fad, and a rare guitar.
