We don't see many of the higher priced 1417
models, and we see even less of its successor, the 1416. Kay must have had some
of the 1413/17 bodies left as the 'paddle head' guitars (the 1411 and 1412) came
on the scene, and used up the remainder for these rare Silvertones.

The 1415 and 1416 ended up the run of this particular
model in 1966. The main differences were easy to see. The 1415 received a
'paddle' headstock, and the whammy-armed 1416 got the paddle and a brownburst
paint job!
